About the Author
Robert Munsch is the author of more than 25 books for children including The Paper Bag Princes and Stephanie's Ponytail. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and studied to be a Jesuit priest before deciding to work with children instead. He taught in a variety of nursery schools and daycare centers while he earned an MA in Early Childhood Education. In 1975, Munsch and his wife, Ann, moved to Guelph, Ontario. The Munschs have three children: Julie, Andrew, and Tyya (see them all in Something Good!).
From Booklist
Ages 4^-7. Fresh artwork brightens the story of Jule Ann, who is attacked by a mud puddle every time she steps outdoors. Suomalainen also illustrated the 1982 edition, but his new pictures feature a more fluid, energetic style and full color on every page, rather than on alternate spreads. The growing popularity of Munsch's picture books and this edition's more appealing illustrations make this a likely choice for larger collections. Carolyn Phelan

Paperback. Condition: Good. A brand-new look for a classic story. First published in 1979, this was the first of Robert Munsch s oral stories to be turned into a book. Since then, it has made countless children (and adults) all around the world laugh out loud. When Jule Ann goes outside, a mud puddle jumps on her and gets her dirty all over. No sooner does her mother scrub her clean than she ventures out again, only to be pounced upon by the pesky mud puddle. The cycle continues until finally Jule Ann gets the better of the mud puddle with cheerful ingenuity and two bars of smelly yellow soap. Lively, clever artwork by award-winning illustrator Dusan Petricic gives this bestselling picture book a fresh and energetic look that will charm a new generation of young readers.
