Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. The sub-title of this work is: Poems: New and Selected 1957-1983. This look back at 25 years of work suggests that each of these pieces is a finely crafted representation of this little known Canadian poet. Kisssing the Dancer is one of his best known pieces; my favourite was `The Nobility of Junk' on page 66 - of 79 total. `.Junk' is less poetry than it is CONDENSED language prose. The thread of the idea is the twice yearly placing of discarded consumer goods on a THRONE of garbage bags. Photo of author back wrapper and 1 of Ned Hanlan a Canadian rower - 1892. Cond: Orangy-gold paper wrapper w/ red and green graphic. No tears, no creases. Only one corner is NOT excellent.No names NOR marks. Sticker residue. Tight. Quote from p.27 - `At McConkey's Farm' : ". I am overwhelmed by the complexities / Of skunk cabbage./ It is warmish; the breeze pleases me. / Everything is dry. We stand and walk/." Size: 8vo.
