About the Author
R.M. Patterson>/b> (1898-1984) moved to Canada when he realized that working in a London bank would never bring him happiness. He spent the remaining years of his life pursuing adventure in the Canadian West and was a delightfully evocative writer and an intrepid explorer. Authoring a total of five books about his excursions into the Canadian wilderness and his life on a southern Alberta ranch, Raymond Murray Patterson earned himself legions of fans and made Canada's wilderness famous.

After the war and a career in banking, Patterson got itchy feet and headed for Canada. He ultimately became a rancher in the shadows of the mountains in the Alberta Foothills. Section of b/w photographs at center. LEARN about : Rastatt, Weary Creek Gap, chaps, King Bearspaw, and Knife Edge Ridge. Cond : Paper wrapper is white with light green lettering. Cover illustration is a b/w photo of horses at a mountain lake - circa 1937. Tight in binding. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Excellent reading copy. QUote (p. 150) : " The old cabins which we planned to use were unroofed and stripped completely, down to log walls and floors.
