Chinese Proverb
The Exercise Science Student Workbook is an invaluable companion to Foundations of Exercise Science: Studying Human Movement and Health, the comprehensive text developed specifically for the Exercise Science University Preparation (PSE4U) course.
Keeping the above Chinese Proverb in mind, the hands-on activities in this Student Workbook are designed to help students understand the scientific basis of physical education and human movement. It contains over 130 activities, labs, and practical applications divided into 13 chapters, covering material across the major units of the course.
These fun and practical activities, based on research across many fields of study, were carefully compiled to generate learning in self, partner, and group environments.
For comparison and evaluation purposes, most activities related to fitness and skill testing include norms. Where possible, the norms are based on Canadian research; however, where Canadian data was not available, norms were acquired from comparative American or European sources. In most cases, the norms were modified to present students with a simplified assessment of their fitness and performance levels.
