The author studied medicine in Victoria University, Manchester, qualifying in 1943. He spent a year on staff in the Department of Surgery, Sunderland Royal Infirmary, and then was called up into the army. He saw action with the Eighth Army in Italy, and when the war ended, he became a malariologist in Greece. March Through Military Medicine recounts, with inestimable charm, his experience with the British Army and in Greece.
