Synopsis

The blood-stained pathway to religious and civil liberty faces its greatest test in 200 years. The United States "Bill of Rights" lifted the concept of liberty far beyond the realm of toleration to an inalienable right for all citizens.

Yet for a century and a half, some searchers of prophetic utterances of John the Revelator have foretold a time just prior to the return of Christ when all these most cherished freedoms will be wrenched from the citizens of the United States. Further, it was understood that the U.S. would enforce its coercive edicts upon the rest of the world.

This book from the Standish brothers traces the courageous battle for freedom, a battle stained with the lives of many martyrs.

About the Author

Russell and Colin Standish, twin sons and eldest in a family of four children, were born in Newcastle, Australia. For the first four years of schooling they attended public schools, but for the rest of their primary (elementary) and secondary education, they attended the Newcastle Adventist School. From there they completed the two-year teacher-education diploma at Avondale College. Both completed their Bachelor of Arts with honors in Psychology, at the University of Sydney, but from there their careers and service have diverged. Russell then completed medicine, choosing to specialize in internal medicine, and achieved membership in the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom, while Colin completed his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy, both in Psychology, and then a second Masters in Education.

Russell has subsequently served at the Warburton Adventist Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital (both in Australia); the Bangkok Adventist Hospital (Thailand), and Penang Adventist Hospital (Malaysia), Royal Bershire Hospital (England) and was Deputy Medical Director of the Austin Hospital (Australia). He served as a director of the Adventist Health System for South Austin East Asia.

Colin lectured in the Psychology Department of the University of Sydney before returning to his alma mater, Avondale College, to chair the Education Department. Subsequent to this he has served as Academic dean and President of West Indies College (Jamaica), Chairman of the Psychology Department, Academic Dean and President of Columbia Union College (Maryland), Dean of Weimar College (California) and his present position as President of Hartland Institute (Virginia).

Both Russell & Colin are ordained, credential ministers, and are deeply concerned in the issues presently affecting the church.
