This book suggests a technique to help students work to understand and remember what they've heard or read. Using three senses, sight, hearing and touch, students are guided to identify key information and to retain a visual image of an event. The book consists of 40 different events. Each one depicts a point in time in the daily lives of members of two families. For each event a student sees a picture and listens to and watches the instructor simultaneously read the corresponding text and point to/touch key elements of the picture. The student is then asked to restate the text-to "tell what is happening in the picture," as he or she points to/touches the key points in the picture. Hopefully, this book willhelp speech/language pathologists work to help our students more readily develop and improve comprehension, a major building block in their intellectual development.
