Synopsis
Life on the Texas frontier was full of hardships for a woman born to be a Southern belle. From the moment she arrived, Jenny hated the land and the weather, the people and their coarse behavior, even the cabin she was forced to live in--and the spiders and scorpions she had to share it with. For at least 100 years since her death, Erath County residents have reported seeing Jenny's ghost hovering near the McDow Hole on Greens Creek. They ask themselves how Jenny's restless spirit can still be chained to the place that caused her so much pain. How is it that she can find no answers to the questions that tormented her in life?

About the Author
Mary Joe Clendenin was born and raised in the country Just a hop, skip and jump from the area where Jenny died. All of her life she has heard stories of the ghost of the McDow Hole on Greens Creek in Texas. Though Mary Joe left the area for a career of teaching, she and her husband have now returned. She decided to write about Jenny and haunting from the point of view of the ghost.
