Peck is a sculptor and professor of Art at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is author of the text, Sculpture as Experience: Working with Clay, Wire, Wax, Plaster and Found Objects, (Krause Publications) and two other full length books on creative processes. She is referenced in Who's Who in American Art, The World's Who's Who of Women, and the Smithsonian Institute's publication, "Designing Public Art," published in conjunction with The National Museum of American Art,1996.
Judith Peck holds a doctoral degree in art and education from New York University and two masters degrees in sculpture and art education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Judith Peck's sculptures in bronze have been exhibited in numerous museums including the International Biennial of Art in Malta, the National Academy Galleries in New York, the Baltimore Museum of Art; the Pennsylvania Academy; the Detroit Institute; the New Jersey State Museum, and at colleges and universities including Yale, Columbia, Fordham, Adelphi, and Rutgers.
Currently, an exhibition of her outdoor welded metal sculptures, "Ladies of Steel," is on display at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, adjacent to the United Nations in New York City (Second Avenue at 47th Street through February 12, 2002). Her work is in the American Art Collection of the Yale University Art Gallery, the Ghetto Fighters Museum in Israel and approximately eighty private and public collections.
