Synopsis
Nonfiction. SAGA DE MEXICO is a distinctive reader for a fourth-year high school or second-year college class. It provides students with well-written, interesting stories and gives them a clear picture of the history of Mexico from pre-Columbian times to the present, supplemented with a view of contemporary Chicano life in the U.S. Southwest. Each of the eleven major divisions of the book is preceded by a short historical introduction and is illustrated with an attractive photograph, painting, or woodcut by one of Mexico's most distinguished artists.
