From Library Journal:
Tom and Elizabeth Preston, the folks behind Discovery Publishing, have come up with a series that gives more information than ever before on state parks of the western United States. These volumes succeed in being both historical, discussing the purpose of the parks, and informational, with helpful tips for campers, recreational vehicle owners, and tourists. The descriptions of each park are thorough, and the directions given on how to get to the parks and what to see when you get there are easy enough for even the most directionally challenged. The price of each volume makes all of them fit within the budget of just about every public library, and they will definitely find a receptive audience. The only comparable book is the second edition of Parks Directory of the United States (LJ 9/15/94), which includes information on more parks than are found in the "Double Eagle" series but does not have as much detailed information on each park. Libraries would do well to have both titles in their collections. Highly recommended.?Joseph L. Carlson, Vandenberg Air Force Base Lib., Cal.
