Paint brushes, pipe cleaners, and egg crates. Transparencies, scissors, and scotch tape. Piles of ungraded papers, bottles of gunked-up glue. Are you managing your stuff, or is it managing you?

Keeping track of everyday K-5 stuff-the paperwork, lesson plans, and art supplies, the backpacks, bulletin boards, and books-can overwhelm any teacher and compromise student performance. Now you can banish clutter, maximize space, and create an environment that encourages learning with this how-to guide to getting and staying organized.

Whether you're setting up your classroom at the beginning of your first year, or reorganizing in the middle of your fifteenth, Nations and Boyett give you tips, tricks, and suggestions on:

* keeping student information organized and accessible.

* arranging your room to capitalize on available space.

* preparing for when you'll be absent.

* taming disorderly closets and classroom libraries.

Make your classroom more than the place where your stuff is stored. Create a homelike environment that maximizes efficiency and invites participation. Includes diagrams, pictures, and templates to make getting started a snap.
