Synopsis

In these subtle, eloquent, and moving poems, Timothy Kelly writes about his work, his family, his memories of growing up, and the natural area in which he lives and often hikes. The human body, in all its manifestations and meanings, forms the natural center of his vision. His poems have an integrity of voice and vision that are refreshing and original. Witty, supple, and deeply felt, they offer a refuge from some of the distracting and superfluous elements that characterize our world today.

From the Back Cover

"Stronger is one of the strongest things I have read in ages. Timothy Kelly writes poems rich with music, intelligence and compassion. They make great moves, which should be no surprise, since they often rise from the deep terrain of the physical form the body, into all the layerings and elevations of thought and existence." --Naomi Shihab Nye

"Tim Kelly's Stronger defies easy comparison to other poetry because of its subject matter: work. More specifically, this is the work of the body, where Kelly is an active practitioner, both in his life and in his writing. From firsthand experience, Kelly knows that the miracle of healing is subordinate to the limitations of healing. His poems inhabit our hearts and minds, our spines and pelvises." --Lucia Perillo
