Chapters are divided into doll and animal patterns and kits, accessories, supplies, publications, andfor people with no time or ability to sewhandmade dolls and animals that can be purchased readymade. The information provided by each company includes its address, cost of its catalog, and names of the dolls/animals it designs. Accompanying descriptions range from inadequate to highly informative, the latter generally with photographs or line drawings of the product. Scattered throughout are marketing tips for those who want to get started in the mail order business; the value of these tips varies considerably. Recommended for public libraries. Joanne K.
