His words painted a picture that grew continually in my mind. Our nations old folks sitting in fast food restaraunts, malls and parks around the country, waiting. Waiting... with knowledge acquired through lifes experiences that is going virtually untapped. What would this world be like if this untapped precious resource was inspired to take action and make a difference... to turn their knowledge into wisdom... to leave a legacy? Unfortunately Uncle Joe died shortly after our time around that campfire. He did not get the opportunity to read this book or even really know that his answer to my question was the inspiration for this book. Leaving A Legacy is a fictional story that I believe could be true not only in Los Angeles, but in cities and towns around the world. I want Leaving A Legacy to be a book that inspires the old people to continue living until there is no more life left in the body. Even if just one more person cares enough to take action and make a difference, then the world will become a better place. All of this brings up yet another question. When does a person become old? I have witnessed 92 year olds with the vitality and wit of a teenager, and teenagers with the ambition and drive of a bedridden nursing home patient. When does a person become old? It is never too early or too late to begin taking action and leaving a legacy. The ability to make a difference lies within each of us. Leaving A Legacy is not a book written for old people or young people. It is written for the people desiring more for themselves and all the world around them, regardless of their age. My thoughts now go to you and another question. You've purchased this book or someone has given it to you thinking you would benefit. What are you going to do with it? There are several possible answers to this question. You can stop reading now and miss the potential that lies on the pages ahead. This option really has no benefit to anyone and is hopefully not the one you'll choose. You can read and be entertained. This is a great option. You will be introduced to a variety of characters that will make you laugh and cry and there will be some you may possibly even relate with. Some are fictional characters that have become so real to me and my family that they seem like family themselves. Some of the characters are real people from famous Hollywood actors, to a Vienna psychologist placed in fictional settings to help the story unfold. Reading to be entertained is a wonderful option to pursue. You may also read to think and to learn. Some of the greatest books Ive read have caused me to set them down, take a walk, and come back to read the pages I'd just finished. They caused me to think, and in thinking I learned. What you have the potential to think and learn about in Leaving A Legacy revolves around the seven wisdoms that the main characters will introduce you to.... MAKING THE BEST USE OF YOUR TIME KEEPING THE DESIRE TO SMILE SEEING LIFE AS IT REALLY IS FACING THE DRAGON WITHIN APPRECIATING THE VALUE OF HARD WORK FINDING INSPIRATION IN EVERYTHING HAVING THE COURAGE TO TAKE ACTION Yet another option is to read to be inspired. Every book can inspire its reader as long as the reader has the desire to be inspired. At the close of this book you'll find a list of Books That Inspire. The books on this list inspired me because they combined the entertainment that kept my attention, and the content that caused me to think and learn. When these elements combined with my desire to be inspired, I closed the back cover of each knowing I was a better person for reading it. That is what I hope Leaving a Legacy will do for you, make you feel like a better person for reading it. If you set it down inspired, then your own inner potential is rekindled and you are that much closer to taking action and making a difference... leaving your legacy. There seems to be yet one more question to ask. This is undoubtedly the most important question of all, because it relates directly to you, the person caring enough to hold a book like Leaving A Legacy in your hands. It is important because the answer might very well direct the remaining course of your life and touch the lives of every person you come in contact with. The question is simply this.... What will you do out there in your part of the world...
