Description: Winning by moving backward! Redeployment of pieces &usually Knights and Bishops) have helped champions such as Capablanca, Fischer, and Karpov to win many games. Most recetnly it was noted there were backward moves in the first 5 games of the match between Kasparov and Deeper Blue. About the Author
Bill Reuter holds an MBA, and is currently in training for the legal profession. He is a chess teacher and coach, and an occasional lecturer at the Houston Chess Club. He recently led the Village Vikings elementary team to first place in the fiercely contested 1998 Texas Junior Championship.
