Making a Difference: Award Winning Math Teacher Changes the World One Student at a Time was inspired by the thousands of students Sam Cal Calavitta has had the privilege of teaching for the last 23 years. Their stories demand attention! One thing Cal, as his students affectionately call him, has noticed, is that while circumstances change, each of their stories are similar. Every student wants to feel successful. Every student needs a purpose. Every student has a story waiting to be written. They are all different yet one in the same. Cal has seized the opportunities presented to him by God to make a difference in the lives of every student who passes through his classroom doors. This emotional book relives his true, inspiring, and sometimes heart wrenching accounts of the lives that have forever been changed; and the unconventional teaching methods he uses every day to ensure that each student who crosses his path becomes a success - if only for a brief moment. His mission is to motivate through optimism, as he becomes entrenched in the lives of thousands of students who roam the hallways of insecurity, with one goal in mind... TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
