Synopsis
The Silver Boat is a magical, beautifully illustrated fairy tale that will delight children of all ages. It describes the journey that all of must take in order to leave our pain behind and reach the healing place of "the warm and sunny land". Much like Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", this tale of empowerment teaches the lesson that the power lies within the "little girl" herself to overcome her fears, conquer the dragon, and achieve her dreams.

About the Author
Ann Adams is a Clinical Nurse Specialist/therapist in private practice in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She is also employed by St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri. In the field of Mental Health she spends most of her time with children, adolescents, and adults who have survived abuse in their childhoods.
Ann also enjoys road and mountain biking, swimming with wild dolphins and snorkeling in the warm waters of Hawaii, body boarding, boating, traveling with friends, snuggling with her animals, mowing pastures, and writing.
She has published in professional journals, textbooks, and presented at numerous professional conferences on Dissociative Identity Disorders and therapeutic innovations for those healing from childhood abuse.
She enjoys personal contact from those who have read her works.

"When the little girl awakened, she was fresh and felt very brave. She decided to do as the lady had suggested so that she could grow strong, wise, and happy. The lady, pleased with the little girl's decision, continued, 'I am a part of you, and I will always be with you. Any time you wish, you may wrap up in this light and rest. If you do get fearful, close your eyes, wish for the first thing that comes to your mind, and then clap your hands.'
'Now listen very carefully,' said the lady. 'You must think of what you want rather than what you fear. Repeat this, please, for the phrase is very important.' The little girl took a deep breath, stood exceptionally straight, and said, 'I must think of what I want rather than what I fear.' The little girl gave the lady a warm hug, wrapped up in the blue light, picked up her apples and biscuits, and set off straight into the forest."
