About the Author
Baxter Black has spent his life serving the people who make their living 'off the land', from the littlest shepherd to the most prestigious seed soil scientist. They are part of his world. From shoeing a horse, riding' pens, pulling calves, riding bulls, shearing ewes, rotating pastures, diagnosing disease, explaining physiology, making you laugh and, most of all, helping you feel proud of what we do...feed the world. Of course, the 'cowboy' in his stories are always the butt of the joke. After all, it's the truth in humor that makes it funny...that's why there are no science fiction jokes.
