Synopsis

The title, Collision Course, refers to a battle in Daniel 8:6-7 in the final years of our present civilization. The Ram, a symbol of Persia (Iran), is destroyed by the Goat, symbolic of western nations descended from Javan, (grandson of Noah) in a great battle. The Goat, weakened by the battle, collapses. In its place four world powers called "the notable ones" fill the vacuum of power, dividing the world among themselves. From one of these four powers arises a little horn, symbolic of the Antichrist. When he has gained sufficient influence and authority, he will rule the whole world, establishing his capital in Jerusalem. Both the Antichrist and his entire system will be destroyed by the second coming of Jesus Christ to establish a righteous kingdom on earth.

Collision Course, The sub title is, The Ram And The Goat Of Daniel 8. The prophecies of Daniel 8 have largely been ignored by today's evangelical community. Why? It is primarily because scholars have uncritically accepted a faulty 4th Century interpretation that led everyone astray, and because the book of Daniel was sealed until the time of the end (Daniel 12:4,9). Now that we are living in the last days, the seal is being lifted on the interpretation.

An indispensable companion to the amazing vision of the future begun in Daniel, Chapter 7, this book continues to explain the world crisis situation that triggers the rise of the first three beasts of Daniel 7. Daniel 8 then explains how the world will be ripe for the rise of the "diverse beast."

Israel was warned in Matthew 24:33 that the Lord would give observable signs so the nation would know when His coming "...is near, even at the doors." Daniel 8 describes one of the three key events that signals the beginning of the end. This book will enable you to discern events moving the world toward the coming tribulation.

The prophet Daniel was warned in Chapter 12, verses 4 and 9 that the book would be sealed until the "time of the end". Since most conservative biblical scholars believe that we are approaching that time, it seemed proper, even imperative, to take a fresh look at the text of Chapter 8. The study in several of the other chapters had produced some startling results and Chapter 8 proved to be no exception. Since chapter divisions in our Bibles are not a part of the inspired text, it quickly became apparent that Chapters 7 and 8 do not stand alone but are two indispensable halves of one revelation to the prophet Daniel. For those of our readers who have already digested The Four Beasts of Daniel 7, we prayerfully present what we believe to be the proper interpretation of the second half of the revelation in Collision Course: The Ram and the Goat of Daniel 8.
