Synopsis
Novel by Tim Powers which is a historical fantasy set in 16th century Europe. Brian Duffy, an aging mercenary is employed by a mysterious and ancient society as a bouncer at the Vienna inn where Hertzwesten Beer is brewed. The story details his travels and leads towards the battle between East and West, in which magic and the supernatural are the main weapons. The Drawing of the Dark refers to a Beer! Forward by K.W.Jeter. Afterword by James P. Blaylock. This edition is part of four different states each named after a beer. This the Bock State of this edition. 300 were printed of which 275 were offered for sale. Mahogany tinted bonded leather edition, the endpapers featuring an illustration of a moslem invasion of vienna circa 1490. The half title, frontispiece and full title pages are sepia toned. Signed by Powers, Blaylock and Jeter on a limitation page bound at the end of the book. No Dust Jacket or Slipcase as issued.
