MYSTERY OF COYOTE CANYON Colonel Kit Carson's military campaign against the Navajos, artifacts of the Anasazi Indians (the "Ancient Ones"), and the ruins of cliff dwellings in Canyon de Chelly, Arizona are a few of the historical themes interwoven into this thriller for young adults. While Chris Warren is visiting his Park Ranger uncle at Canyon de Chelly he befriends Anna Joe. Anna is a Navajo girl living with her grandparents in the traditional Indian way. The unlikely pair join forces to investigate bizarre occurrences in Coyote Canyon. Throughout the story, the young protagonists are challeenged with untangling Indian legends and myths. As they draw closer to uncovering the secret hidden in Coyote Canyon, Chris and Anna discover that only true friendship will get them out alive.
THE ROCKS HAVE EYES Someone's up there watching us. Christopher Warren was certain. It was more than a hunch. It was sixth sense, intuition you might call it. He could feel the eyes boring down on him. It made his skin crawl. Trying not to be too obvious, he scanned the cliff walls of the canyon: vastness. High above, an eagle soared in lazy circles, showing only a mild interest in the scen below.
