Original color pictorial stiff wrappers, lg 8vo. Santa Cruz Island is one of the northern Channel Islands off the west coast of southern California. This volume presents the first detailed and well-illustrated flora of Santa Cruz Island covering 650 taxa, of which 480 are native and 170 naturalized. Among these are 45 insular endemics, including 8 found only on Santa Cruz Island. This volume was published in collaboration with the California Native Plant Society. The very large folding map at the rear is a full size color facsimile of the map - it is identical to the original map. Many copies of this work were sold with the color map not present in the pocket at the rear. This copy is now complete. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
