A glance at the Table of Contents of About Story: Writings on Stories and Storytellins 1980-1994 will reveal an array of fascinating and functional titles. .... Ruth Stotter has a way of sifting through superfluous words and arriving at the heart of the matter. In addition to shorter articles, there are are five long ones included which readily show that Stotter is a scholar in her field. Even so, she still reaches initiates who are new to storytelling and shares wiuth them, as well as those already initiated, the fascinating history, growth and reemergence of the ancient art of storytelling. This book whets the appetite, stimulates the mind and provides an illuminating pool of thoughts, facts and ideas to ponder and share with others.
