What's wrong with our schools and how can we improve them? Dr. Rauhauser and Dr. McLennan answer these tough questions in this examination of thirty-five current educational practices. They argue that many practices are actually holdovers from the industrial age - they don't work in today's information age and need desperately to be replaced. A more sensible practice is suggested in every case. Author Dr. Rauhauser is a former teacher, principal, administrator, and State Department consultant. He is presently a "Fellow" of the National Center for Effective Schools, a university adjunct professor, and a national consultant in Effective Schools and Total Quality Management. Dr. McLennan is a former secondary school teacher and professor at Cornell University. She is presently a specialist in restructuring schools as the Partnership Schools Initiative Facilitator at the Region 14 Education Service Center in Abilene, Texas.
