This book includes the wit and wisdom of Margaret Fuller, which is as alive and pertinent as it was over a century ago.
Much of her wit and wisdom has been lost to posterity since much generated from Fuller's day-to-day conversation. Yet shinning through is the revelation of a singular woman of stature whose accomplishments and large-minded humanity can be a source for inspiration.
Lifting Margaret Fuller's words from her works has involved minimal editing, because her style often seems involved and complex to the modern reader. Her scholarly references have meaning for the knowledgeable few today. Even so, her acute perceptions stand to be of highest quality and universal significance. General interest. Adult. Women's studies.

In her quest to bring forward Margaret Fuller's name, she co-founded The Margaret Fuller Ossoli Network with Ramona Barth and together they have helped to stage various events. They were most proud when they unveiled a plaque in Cambridge City Hall in 1987 and when they dedicated The Margaret Fuller Ossoli Square in front of Radcliffe on a day commemorating Fuller in 1981.
