Reed I. White is an instrument-rated pilot who has gathered information for the Flyer's Recreation Guide since the mid-1980's. The first of the series was printed in 1988. He flys a 180 HP Cessna 172, which has been modified for backcountry flying. Reed graduated from the University of Wisconsin with an interdisciplinary Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Filmmaking, and Art, and began flying while at the university. After moving to Oregon, he realized his passion for flying the mountain airstrips.
