Sadakazu Uyenishi was one of the first Japanese jujutsuka to fight professionally (and very successfully) in British music halls and theatres 100 years ago. He was much admired by professional boxers and wrestlers for his skill and willingness to fight heavier and apparently stronger opponents. This is a perfect facsimile of the best of the early jujutsu book hard bound and printed on the heavy, card like paper so popular in Victorian times. First published around 1902 this beautiful volume has been completely re-type-set and not simply reproduced photographically.
