Illustrated with nearly 70 rare archive black and white photographs; detailed 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings by Ian R. Stair of models E.I, E.II, EIV, E.V and three color profiles by Ray Rimell on rear cover. "Colours and Markings essay by Ray Rimell and Appendices round out this issue. First edition. A well researched monograph on this eindecker (monoplane) German fighter. The Pfalz E-Types never achieved the performance levels of their Fokker contemporaries and saw only limited service. Grosz's treatment in Datafile 59 represents "the most complete coverage of these fighters yet published." [Foreword]. An excellent resource for the scale-modeler and airplane enthusiast.
