In truth its one of the greatest stories ever written from a horse or pony's point of view. The story, although written some ninety years ago, has been avidly collected since it was first published, not only by everyone associated with polo, whether player, official, groom or spectator, but by all lovers of horses and ponies. It appeals to people of all ages and its the classic book of its type. Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was, in his lifetime, acknowledged as a magnificent story teller and poet and is now firmly established as one of Britain's greatest writers. Lionel Edwards, whose superb colour plates and pen and ink drawings embellish this book, is the perfect collaborator and illustrator. This lovely dark blue cloth hardback is in really good condition.
