"Common Threads" is a musical play that compares the lives of sugarcane workers with the lives of coal miners everywhere. Set in a sugar plantation in Granada in the Caribbean and the Big Pit colliery in South Wales, it is a true tale of romance, rivalry, murder and intrigue. The music and the words combine to engage and excite young people with the aim of making them think about history and the issues that the play is based around. This is a useful pack for many parts of the curriculum including Literacy and Citizenship.
