THE BOOK CONCENTRATES ON THE 5TH, 6TH, 7TH & 8TH BATTALIONS OF THE ROYAL WARWICKSHIRE REGIMENT WHO FORMED THE BACKBONE OF THE BRIGADE UNTIL AFTER 1945. IN 1908 WHEN THE BRIGADE WAS REORGANISED BIRMINGHAM CORPORATION GASWORKS FORMED AN INFANTRY COMPANY FOR THE 8 TH BATTALION. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY DUNLOP RUBBER, ANSELLS BREWERS, B.S.A. & MITCHELLS & BUTLER TO NAME BUT A FEW COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES WHO FORMED INFANTRY COMPANIES.THE 7th BATTALION WAS MADE UP OF VOLUNTEER COMPANIES FROM SMALL WARWICKSHIRE TOWNS E COMPANY WAS FROM RUGBY. LEAMINGTON, STRATFORD, NUNEATON AND COVENTRY ALL FORMED INFANTRY COMPANIES. IN 1914 MOST OF THESE MEN WENT TO WAR. THERE ARE NINE CHAPTERS ON THE BRIGADE IN WORLD WAR 1, 1915 ON THE WESTERN FRONT, ON THE SOMME 1916, YPRES 1917, AND ITALY 1918 GIVES AN IDEA OF THE CAMPAIGNS COVERED. THERE ARE SEVERAL CHAPTERS ON THE 1940 CAMPAIGN IN FRANCE. THE BOOK IS WELL ILLUSTRATED .ONLY A SMALL NUMBER WERE PRINTED SO THIS IS ALREADY A VERY SCARCE TITLE. 1995. SOFT COVERS.
