This is the story of Willie Maddren; Middlesbrough Football Club legend, in his own words, with a foreword by his widow Hilary. His autobiography begins with his early years playing sport in school, through to his apprenticeship with Middlesbrough and eventual status as a top defender before injury curtailed his career. Maddren went on to manage the football club, which had been his home patch since being a young boy. Willie's autobiography is more than a football memoir - proceeds from it's sales go to his charity, in aid of Motor Neuron Disease; the crippling illness which eventually took his life and which he describes in startling detail as the book progresses.
