Barney Spender has been a freelance sports writer and broadcaster since 1988 and has covered international cricket across the world. He watched his first Test match at the age of nine, when Australia beat England at the Oval Cricket Ground in 1972. He is married to Jacqueline, has two children, and lives close to the Oval in London. David Gower, (Foreword), former captain of the England test cricket team as well as a star athlete, has endured 117 Test Matches, thirty-one as captain, and 114 one-day internationals. Gower was once ranked number one test cricket player in the world, and is still the second highest Test Match runs scorer for England. Now a broadcaster and journalist, he is the host of Sky Sports' international cricket coverage. Gower also spend five years as a commentator for BBC TV. He lives in England, and is married to Thorunn. They have two daughters Alexandra and Samantha.
