Peter DeWint was a watercolourist working in the nineteenth century. His speciality was the landscape in Lincolnshire, and his work reflects historical and social changes such as agrarian reform. He is associated with the Munro Circle, David Cox and John Constable. This book contains a series of essays discussing his career from various angles by established scholars, and it also includes a full reprint of his wife's memoir which documents his life.
