About the Author

Russell Roberts is Curator of Photographs at the National Museum of Photography, Film &Television in England. A widely respected photo historian, he is author of the authoritative work about William Henry Fox Talbot, Specimens & Marvels (Aperture, 2000). Previous work includes Memory & The Archive in 1995, and In Visible Light: Photography and Classification in Art, Science and the Everyday for MoMA, Oxford, in 1997.
