SHARED WRITING: RENGA DAYS is an anthology of essays and poetry of participants in renga, the 1000 year old Japanese art form of shared writing, and a companion to Verse Chain: Sharing Renga and Haiku. Illustrating the mushrooming of the renga platform project through residencies and tours around the British Isles, SHARED WRITING offers one hundred verse hyakuin renga and photographs of renga days. The intention of this work is to inspire your own linked-verse poems. "It is generous and inclusive . . . About the Author
Alec Finlay works as an artist, poet and publisher. His most recent publications include One Hundred Year Star-Diary, Specimen Colony, what changes change, two fields of wheat, and Mesostic Laboratorium. He was one of the first artists-in-residence at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, and recent artist projects in England include a residency at Kielder Observatory in Northumberland and a long term collaboration with NaREC, the National Centre for Renewable Energy in Blyth, creating color and text designs for windmill turbines.
