Synopsis
Mushier El-Farra is a son of Gaza and has written a book that is unique in that the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip speak directly to the reader.
The author interviewed 17 families who vividly describe the horrors that were inflicted upon them during the 21 days of the Israeli Operation Cast Lead at the end of 2008.
As the survivors relate their experiences the reader can be forgiven for not reading further, such is the revulsion induced by the agonizing ordeal and the helpless situation to which an intransigent Israeli army subjected them.
Parents lost children, children lost parents. Men and women, young and old, became defenseless victims of the relentless Israeli onslaught.
And yet the people have refused to be beaten. Despite so many lives being lost and homes destroyed the people of Gaza refuse to accept Israeli tyranny.
What emerges is that the people seek not revenge but justice.
