About the Author:
The twelve authors of A Distant Disgrace belong to a small writing group, Karrinyup Writers Club, in Perth, Western Australia. The original idea was to attempt to write in the same voice, but of course this was not possible, the reason being that each has her own distinctive voice and style. The Editor tried to keep the story consistent but wasn't always able to achieve it, with sometimes humorous consequences. Karrinyup Writers Club will celebrate it's 30th year in 2015. There have been changes in membership over the years, but the object has remained the same: to help one another improve their writing skills with the aim of publication or competition success. Among them, the members have a long list of individual achievements. The Club has run several national competitions and produced a number of anthologies made up of winning and other entries. They have also produced several anthologies of their own work. This is their first (and probably last) attempt at writing a joint novel.
