Blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Plain text dustwrapper with white background and dark blue and lighter blue text to the front panel and backstrip. Blue toned photograph of Dr Henry Price to the rear dustwrapper panel. The biography of Dr Henry Price who was born in Germany in 1904. He trained as a doctor but in 1933 had to flee with the rise of the Nazis to power. Fleeing to Germany to Paris and then on to Beirut. Where he was interred because he was a German!, on the outbreak of war. And only released on the proviso that he joined the French Foreign Legion. After World War II ended he and his family decided to emigrate to Australia, where he found, unfortunately, the same prejudices that had plagued him in Europe. But this man was not one to give up without a fight, and it was with some surprise that Australians opened their newspapers in 1953 to the headlines that a German-Jewish immigrant was taking to court for libel, defamation and conspiracy 11 Australian doctors in a case that became infamous. Bumping and fading to the lower backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. Some dustiness to the top text block edge.
