About the Author
Trisch Price has been sewing since middle school. Trisch started quilting in 1993 during graduate school after watching "The Great American Quilt" on PBS. After her first quilt was completed (a Lone Star in true '90s colors), she joined her local guild. She enjoys the synergy of quilt guilds and continues to be an active participant. She has always leaned toward the more contemporary quilts. Now she is a dedicated modern quilter with an occasional art quilt thrown in.
Review
These 18 quilts are examples of 'Modern Quilting' with areas of negative space, ie. plain fabric 'around and between prominent designs.' The first quilts have joined strips in graduated colours. Later quilts feature free cut appliqué. They are complex designs with detailed cutting instructions and charts. The text is written in small grey print. The photos show the negative spaces filled with dense quilting but there are only references to the quilting patterns on three quilts. (British Patchwork & Quilting, April 2016)
