About the Author

Barbara Cawthorne received her degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. She taught for only two years and substituted for 25 years. Her professional career experience includes teaching kindergarten through eighth grade. She has always enjoyed the experience of going into the classroom with a new assignment each time she substitutes. Her students have given her many rewards including wishing she would return when their teacher is absent.
