Synopsis

Chapters One through Seventeen deal with Reinberg's World War II missions in the Pacific, from Samoa to Guadalcanal (the Solomon Islands), from the Palau Islands to Saipan and Guam. Chapter Eighteen describes his activities in the U.S. and England (he was an exchange pilot flying RAF jet night fighters) in the last five years between World War II and the Korean War. Reinberg's duties during the Korean War when he flew F4U Corsair night-fighters, are explained in Chapters Nineteen and Twenty. Chapter Twenty-One recounts problems encountered while Reinberg was a test pilot, experimenting with new jets. The last four chapters (Twenty-Two through Twenty-Five) describe some of the typical aviation adventures Hunter has lived while a civilian.
