For twenty-five years, noted outdoor educator Jane Ferguson and her writer husband, Gary, wove a splendid life from their shared love of wild America. After marrying in the remote mountains of the West, Jane went on to teach for two decades in some of the nation's finest national parks and wilderness areas; Gary, meanwhile, embarked on a series of backcountry writing projects for everyone from National Geographic to Vanity Fair. Their partnership came to an end after a tragic accident on a rugged stretch of whitewater in the woods of northern Ontario. Jane would not survive, drowning in the fury of the Kopka River. GRAND CANYON FOR KIDS is just one of the many projects they did together, to translate their love of the Canyon for children, with some nice illustration work by artist Mike Ebersole.
