The author, David Miller, homesteaded in Day Harbor on the Kenai Peninsula outer coast after serving in the Vietnam War. He has extensively explored the Kenai Peninsula seacoast by small boat and kayak. The coastal guide material and travel tips in this book were compiled from his journals, travel logs, commercial fishing records, and recollections from more than 45 years of exploring, beachcombing, and photographing wild and remote places in the Kenai Fjords, Cook Inlet, Prince William Sound and Southeast Alaska. His articles and photographs have appeared in Alaska Magazine, Alaska Geographic, Wilderness, and other publications. David lives with his wife Anne, a marine biologist in Seward, Alaska. They also fish commercially for halibut and spend time at their homestead in Day Harbor.
