About the Author
Jan O'Meara is a 30-year resident of Alaska. She lives in the hills north of Homer, a semi-rural community at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in Southcentral Alaska. She teaches Alaska History at the local college and is a former news reporter and public school teacher.
