Gr 6-9-A readable, lively biography of the women's suffrage advocate, abolitionist, and temperance crusader. Gehret obviously admires her subject greatly, and writes glowingly of her accomplishments and struggles. However, none of the material is documented, and she has fictionalized episodes from throughout Anthony's life; dialogue, thoughts, and emotions are constantly supplied. Archival photographs and reproductions enliven the narrative. References are made to such historical figures as Lucretia Mott and Frederick Douglass, but their identities aren't fully explained or placed in historical context. Pamela Levin's Susan B.
