About the Author

Dr. James L. Castner is a tropical biologist, photographer, author, publisher, educator, and consultant. He specializes in creating and publishing educational materials that are thoroughly illustrated, easy to use, and affordable. He leads tours to tropical areas of the world, specializing in Latin America. Personal interests include tribal art derived from human materials such as shrunken heads and trophy or overmodeled skulls.

Dr. Jason H. Byrd is a board-certified forensic entomologist. He has published numerous scientific articles on the use and application of entomological evidence in legal investigations. He serves as a consultant and educator in criminal and civil legal investigations in both the United States and throughout the world. His research efforts have focused on the development and behavior of insects of forensic importance.
