Marilyn Monroe and John Kennedy It has been widely announced that they were lovers at one time. Their personalities are very much different. He (Figure 17-10) is aggressive, independent, very intelligent, having a great deal of stamina and a strong desire to impose his will on others. She (Figure 17-12) is friendly, charming, sociable, compassionate, soft and pretentious. He has minimal social and emotional needs whereas she is the opposite. He prefers not to let anyone know him unless he so desires, whereas she wants everyone to know her, like an "open" book. To put it another way, he is very private and she is very public. His aggressive nature coupled with her temper and sarcasm might have caused adverse confrontations. However, there were several things they had in common. Both were emotionally in-tune with each other. Both had healthy strong egos and portray self-confidence. Neither had a strong interest in the family; he was intensely tied to his work and she devoted herself to being an actress and "sex" object. Sexually they were apparently very compatible, each wanting to fulfill their strong physical desires. Nevertheless she once had said that his lovemaking technique was "routinely" performed, in an adolescent manner.
