Foreword: The history of the personal computer industry is intimately associated with the history of Intel's x86 chip family. Computer systems based upon these processors have the greatest overall market share of computer systems sold. If you know the ins and outs of these systems you can pretty much be assured of landing a job in the computer field.
Those of you who are about to enter the computer service field should be prepared for a lifetime of learning. With technology changing so rapidly you will need to keep reading as much as possible, otherwise your customers will lose confidence in you when you're unable to answer their off-the-wall questions. Remember, they think you're the expert. This book will give you the technical know-how to feel confident in answering almost any question about troubleshooting computers.
In this second edition of "CST-Computer Service Technician", the CPU Chapter has been updated to include information on the most recent microprocessors. This is the format I will be taking when updating or adding Chapters in future versions of the CST book.
